Pentacle partners with ADUSTECH on Green Hydrogen R&D

This collaboration aims to build local expertise in green hydrogen and clean energy technologies, supporting research, training, and innovation that will benefit Nigeria and the wider African region.

Pentacle Innovation Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s transition towards clean energy technology and hydrogen research. The virtual signing ceremony brought together experts and academics from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States, reflecting the global significance of this partnership. The collaboration aims to strengthen research, innovation, and capacity building in green hydrogen technologies, while positioning Nigeria as a regional leader in the emerging hydrogen economy.

In his opening remarks, Dr Rabiu Aliyu Abdulkadir, Director of ADUSTECH’s Centre for Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (CDIAI), welcomed participants and emphasised the importance of industry–academia partnerships in accelerating sustainable development and technological advancement.

Speaking during the ceremony, Dr Fauziya Ado Yakasai, Chief Executive Officer of Pentacle Innovation Ltd, described the agreement as a defining step in Africa’s clean energy landscape.
“Our mission is to integrate research, innovation, and entrepreneurship for a sustainable Africa. Through this partnership with ADUSTECH, we aim to transform that mission into measurable impact—cleaner energy systems, skilled researchers, and future energy leaders.”

Representing the university leadership, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, Vice Chancellor of ADUSTECH (through the Directorate of Linkages and Affiliations), praised the initiative and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting the establishment of a state-of-the-art Centre for Green Hydrogen and Clean Energy Technologies at the university.

As part of the event, Dr Tariq Galadanchi Ahmed, Chief Strategy Officer at Pentacle Innovation Ltd, delivered an overview of the Green Hydrogen and Clean Energy Initiative. He highlighted the potential of green hydrogen—produced via renewable-powered electrolysis—to reshape Nigeria’s energy systems and support economic growth through sustainable innovation.

Senior Consultant Mr Bello Yakasai also commended the collaboration, describing it as “pioneering within the West African region” and capable of positioning Nigeria at the forefront of hydrogen-based energy research.

Also in attendance were members of Pentacle’s leadership team, including Dr Maje Haruna, Chief Financial Officer, and Mr Nabil Bello, Chief Operating Officer. The event concluded with the formal signing of the MoU and a virtual group photograph of participants from both institutions.
